Michael B. Jordan To Produce Movie About WWII 'Black Panthers' Battalion

Black Panther is continuing to break record after record in movie theaters across the country and around the world five weeks after its release. But, actor Micheal B. Jordan is pushing full steam ahead on another project that he's passionate about.

Variety is reporting that Jordan is set to produce a World War II action-drama called "The Liberators" with his Outlier Society Productions and Safehouse Pictures. We aren't sure if Jordan will be acting in the project yet. But, the well-known actor throwing himself into the producing game is definitely exciting and different news.

"The project is based on a spec script written by Madison Turner and tells the story of the 761st regiment in World War II, an entirely African-American combat unit whose heroism led to the desegregation of the armed forces," Variety reads. This regiment -- which included famed baseball legend Jackie Robinson -- was even nicknamed the "Black Panthers." How iconic.

"Along with Jordan, producers are Safehouse Pictures’ Tory Tunnell and Joby Harold, and Outlier Society Production’s Alana Mayo. Safehouse’s Matt Schwartz will executive produce."

Jordan is also executive producing and starring in HBO’s upcoming Fahrenheit 451 movie. Shoutout to him for evolving in the entertainment industry. He's sure to make a difference.
