Brett Brown: Joel Embiid Not 'That Far Away' From Playing

posted by Chio -

Monday night’s loss was not only the first loss in the Sixers last 18 games, it was also their first loss since they lost star big man Joel Embiid.

And shortly after Monday’s 113-103 loss in Game 2 that evened up the series at one game apiece—it was actually Embiid that was losing it.

At least it seemed that way from an Instagram post he sent out after the game saying that he was

“[EFFING] sick and tired of being babied.”

Well, seems like Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown has the cure for that.

Playing time, as Brown says Embiid is “not that far away” from playing.

“It’s still moving forward,” Brown said before yesterday’s practice. “What I can say is there is a very unified effort with his representation and the people around him. With the people that did the operation, the doctors, with our medical staff, with the team, with me, the coaching staff. We’re all doing this. There’s a unified sort of spirit and line of communication.”

And while sources say Embiid still has to clear some medical hurdles before returning from surgery, it’s believed Embiid will make an appearance in the 76ers’ first-round showdown with the Heat when the teams are in Miami. However, it’s unclear whether that will occur in Game 3 tomorrow.

I guess Sixers' fans will just have to wait and see.

And in the meantime, Philly, you’ll have to trust the process.
