Nike Announces Sales Up After Colin Kaepernick 'Just Do It' Ad Debuts

posted by Chio -

It appears that the people that were happy with Nike's new ad featuring Colin Kapernick and didn't expect it to hurt the company were right in the end -- Nike announced that sales over the Labor Day weekend jumped 31% -- nearly "double the company's sales during the same period a year ago", according to CBS News.

The company said in an email, "There was speculation that the Nike/Kaepernick campaign would lead to a drop in sales, but the data does not support that theory."

The sales jump isn't too surprising though -- I'd expect that Nike did a lot of research and cost analysis beforehand to determine how it's consumers would react, much like how I'm sure they do before the start of any campaign they ever decide to do. Looks like their bet on Kaep was a good one in the end.
