Pennsylvania Has A New “Ale Trail” App For Beer Lovers

With somewhere around 7,000 breweries in the US and that number growing all the time, beer lovers are now dealing with a good kind of problem: trying to keep track of them all. So to make it easier for folks to find the cold one they’re looking for, some states, cities, and areas are coming out with beer trails, maps, and apps to help drinkers in the beer scenes. Latest on the list, Pennsylvania’s official brewers guild has just announced it’s new, free Digital Ale Trail App.

You may not think of Pennsylvania as a beer mecca, but they rank sixth in the number of craft breweries, with 282 statewide. And they come in first for craft beer production, thanks to Yuengling, the largest craft brewer in the country, according to the Brewer’s Association definition.

The new app will includes features like “comprehensive brewery info including beers on tap, location, and hours,” and a “location-based tool to identify nearby breweries.” The free app is now available through both the iTunes Store and Google Play.
